Petunia hybrid

Early spring to late autumn in warmer climates.

Surfinia® Classic varieties have a vigorous, spreading habit, making them ideal ground covers. Surfinia Classic are very reliable and used by gardens that need the best, such as Hunter Valley Gardens, NSW.

Surfinia® Patio varieties have a mounding habit, and explode with flowers. Perfect for covering the top of garden walls; large hanging baskets; or simply running along the front of your garden beds.

Surfinia® Bouquet varieties have the most remarkable flowering habit on a very compact plant. If your tied of untidy, sparse looking petunia, then look no further. Suitable for both garden and container growing, Surfinia Bouquet will have your friends saying...."That's amazing, what plant is that!"

Surfinia® Classic types are the original trailing petunia, and has been trusted by Australian gardeners and professional landscapers since 1993. With six varieties to choose from there’s a colour for every landscape. Surfinia® Classic is trusted due to its remarkable resilience to adverse weather, such as heavy rain and low temperatures. Under these conditions Surfinia® will prevail and when the sun comes out will produce the most remarkable show of flowers that will leave your neighbours asking “How do they do it?” Surfinia® Patio types have the toughness of Surfinia® Classic, with the added benefit of earlier flowering and a more mounding habit. Surfinia® Patio was developed to improve the performance and appearance of Surfinia® when used in hanging baskets and balcony boxes. Six varieties are now available. New for spring 2012 is Surfinia® BOUQUET, the ultimate Surfinia for hanging baskets and front of garden displays. No other Surfinia can match the prolific branching habit of Surfinia Bouquet types, which means many many more flowers than ever before. Hard to believe I know...but true!

Surfinia® plants perform best when grown under full sun conditions. A word of caution! Stand well back after planting, as they will explode with colour!!

When growing in containers, use a well drained, organically rich potting mix. Do not allow Surfinia® to dry out. Water adequately but not excessively if planted in the garden. In containers, keep Surfinia® slightly moist. Pruning or pinching is not necessary as Surfinia® is self-cleaning!

Due to the large amount of flowers produced by Surfinia®, apply a regular application of fertiliser. Use a high-nitrogen fertiliser with iron. For Surfinia® growing in containers apply fertiliser weekly; for plants growing in the garden apply fertiliser monthly.
